Steve Ballmer from MSFT on Friday boasted about the progress that MSFT is making in its fight about YHOO and GOOG to secure online advertising dollars. Well I’ll tell you this, as someone who has been doing Internet marketing for almost a decade and knows a thing or two about search engines and PPC, MSFT has a LONG way to go to catch GOOG. Has anyone seen MSN’s search engine results in competitive categories? It’s almost pure spam! Redirects to affiliate sites, spam, garbage sites; MSN has absolutely no control over the sites in its index and is WAY too easy to manipulate. And it’s new AdCenter? A buggy, clunky application that came out of beta WAY too fast. From where I sit, GOOG has nothing to worry about for a long while.
