ASTM surged higher on Thursday, trading up over 24% in heavy trading (15.1 million shares traded versus normal daily average of 1.48 million shares) and tacking on an additional 3% in afterhours trading after the Food and Drug Administration granted orphan-drug designation to ASTM’s Tissue Repair Cells. ASTM traded up 44 cents to close the day at $2.23, and is currently trading at $2.30 in afterhours trading. The company currently has a 52 week high of $3.56 and a market cap of $230 million dollars.
